EXCO 8 is principally designed for CEOs, managing directors, CFOs, COOs, HR leaders, sales leaders and other senior decision-makers who need independent technical judgement without becoming technologists themselves.
Organisations typically range from approximately £1m to £600m turnover and around 50 to 5,000 employees, although the importance of the decision matters more than company size.
Dedicated CIOs, CTOs and senior technology leaders will often already possess the capability EXCO 8 provides. Our role is not to duplicate strong internal expertise.
We are not paid to recommend technology.
We are paid to give you an informed opinion.
No supplier commission.
EXCO 8 is paid for its judgement.
We do not accept software commissions, supplier referral fees or implementation kickbacks for recommendations made through the advisory service.
Where implementation is required, EXCO 8 remains advisory-first. If specifically asked, we may help identify an appropriate delivery provider, including a genuinely independent third party or, where relevant, a separately disclosed affiliated provider. Any relationship will be made clear before an introduction is made.
We will not manufacture work.
If we do not believe EXCO 8 can add meaningful value to a question, we will tell you before consuming your advisory capacity.
The objective is useful judgement, not utilisation for its own sake.
Advice does not have to happen from the sidelines.
Where it helps the decision, your adviser can join supplier demonstrations and calls, put technical questions directly to vendors, challenge assumptions with your authority and attend relevant board or leadership discussions.
The role remains yours to control: EXCO 8 can listen quietly, ask the difficult questions, or explain a recommendation to the wider decision-making group.
